Your Safety is my Happiness

by Nadra Enzi, Contributing Writere00c7-usflag

One slogan of mine which sums up the UrbanSafetyism (security consulting & advocacy) I promote is, “Your Safety is my Happiness.” Its focus upon other’s wellbeing as a source of personal pleasure sums up the mindset being promoted. As this consciousness spreads in distressed areas they have the option not to continue being distressed. If repetition forms culture my “your safety is my happiness” slogan (or mantra, take your pick) provides a positive outlook for not-so-positive areas. Low income/high crime sides of town are poised for this type of change of perspective. They, more than wealthier parts of a city, know all too well the price paid when discounting other’s safety becomes the norm.

UrbanSafetyism encourges stakeholders to live this slogan because one day the person whose safety makes someone else happier could be you! Your safety is my happiness… and one day my safety could be your happiness. Let’s honor fallen veterans on Memorial Day 2016 by resolving to better defend each other against enemies foreign and domestic – instead of putting all the burden on public and private protectors.

To quote Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke, ” Can I count on you? ”
