The Neglected Libyan Public

Missing from the jubilant “world opinion” over the brutal murder and torture of the moderate Libyan leader is an analysis of Libyan street opinion. I think I know why no one is talking to them.

by Don Hank

It was supposed to be all about the Libyan people. Remember? Yet missing in all the news on the subject of Libya are

1–the reaction of the LIBYAN PEOPLE to the rising specter of Sharia law. (Wasn’t it they whom we so bravely bombed residential areas to “save”?). They have had 40 years of a moderate Western-style judiciary. But they were lured by Western propaganda to seek “democracy” by overthrowing their moderate leader. The narrative was that they would be free, with a strong suggestion that Western style democracy was on the way. Now some are certainly already seeing that their new unelected Sharia law-advocating “leader,” the favorite of the Western Colonial Empire, is far from the freedom they expected.

2–an analysis (poll) of Libyan street opinion on the murder of Ghadaffi. All of a sudden, journalists supportive of “democracy” are oblivious to public opinion. But we’re used to that now, what with bailouts being decided far above our heads and reporters giving our objections short shrift. It’s only our money, after all.

The incontrovertible fact is that enough people in various cities supported Ghadaffi with their lives to prolong the war beyond expectations. Yet the press wants you to believe hatred for Ghadaffi and support for the new radical Islamist government are virtually universal.

Reported are only reactions of world leaders and the new government, i.e., influential elites who have no interest in how the people are treated but everything to gain financially and politically by playing along with the Western Ruling Class – aloof imperial strong men who hypocritically and absurdly supported the illegal torture and murder of prisoner of war Ghadaffi on “humane” grounds — but pretended to care about human rights long enough to take out this moderate leader and replace him with a radical who staunchly defends the lopping off of body parts and stoning as punishment for crimes and even sexual indiscretions. Welcome to democracy, Libya!

Virtually every Western “leader” supported the brutal torture and murder with gleeful words, even laughter or complicit silence.

It is reminiscent of how the US unilaterally instigated a coup in Iran to oust the “tyrannical” Shah only to see him replaced by a tyrant 10 times more heinous and cruel. Or for that matter, how they instigated a coup in Egypt to topple the “tyrant” Mubarak, who in fact was the most Western-friendly stabilizing factor in the region, only to replace him with an unelected military government that raided a Coptic Christian monastery the day they assumed power, wasting no time in stripping off their masks.

How deceitful our elites. How utterly gullible their subjects!

Will we ever learn?

Actually, we always do. After it is too late, like right now!

America’s Deadly Addiction to Government

by Jim Mullen

Government dependency is replacing the illegal drug trade as the most destructive force in our country. Politicians are the counterparts to the drug kingpins, as are their appointed bureaucrats to the pushers and enforcers. We welcome them into our homes, neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and allow them to infiltrate every corner of society. The pushers and enforcers that feed our addiction to big-government money, exhibit many of the same traits and tactics as drug dealers. The idea of getting more and more people hooked is the same; assuring millions of mindless users for life. Not to mention, they offer career employment opportunities for the kingpins and pushers.

Chemical dependency, the devastating conventional drug problem in this county, pales in comparison to the mind-numbing and incapacitating enslavement to government. It has laid waste to entire generations of families and turned them into uneducated, slothful zombies waiting and begging for their next fix of “government money.”

This addiction renders them unappreciative of life and unmindful of the real joys of self-esteem, self-sacrifice, and accomplishment that one realizes in the pursuit of a fulfilling life without the mind-altering effects of a welfare state.

Politicians convince society that government has a constitutional obligation to provide for the lifelong, paternalistic support and care of Americans. Regardless of effort, preparation, education, or work ethic, many believe that politicians should strip money and property from the rightful owners and use it to make the leeches of society more comfortable in their little self-made, ideological world. However, in reality, they enslave themselves to government and live their lives in fetid ghettos of their own minds.

Likewise, institutions of learning forgot how to educate children properly when they bowed to the federal money bonanza that awaited only their submissive compliance to governmental demands and bureaucratic rules. Government-run schools teach children this same dependency by getting them hooked on the free ride. Since intrusion by the federal government and infusion of federal money into the process began, the educational system has been in a complete free-fall.

When dependence upon and subservience to the state replaced teaching of critical and rational thinking skills, indoctrination replaced education. The remaining dregs of the public educational system, from kindergarten to graduate school reek of failure. The result is, woefully unprepared young people enter society lacking the skills and knowledge needed to function and survive on their own.

The hunters, gatherers, and entrepreneurs of free-willed, independent people are quickly being supplanted by beggars and unmotivated hoards of whining miscreants. They prefer to accept the federal government as the ultimate power over their economic and personal lives, and in turn, mortgage their future and their children’s futures for more government induced euphoria.

Most animals instinctively teach their young how to survive before sending them into the world. Unfortunately, our instincts have devolved into teaching dependence.

We see the finished product of nanny-state incompetence with the “tantrum crowd” demonstrations on Wall Street demanding even more government. They whine about the evils of Capitalism and the free-enterprise system and call for the dismantling of both. Acting like escapees from a liberal-progressive animal farm, these mostly college-educated, “life-skills” challenged, young people are products of decades-long indoctrination and addiction. Awash in a Marxist sea of economic and constitutional ignorance, they bob aimlessly along demanding the tides of government transport them to some left-wing, Garden of Eden.

Additionally, corporations, businesses and mega-farm owners spend more money, manpower, and toil in the pursuit of favorable treatment and money from government than they do in producing goods and services. Lending institutions are under such massive control by government, they lost sight of lending money to people and businesses for the good of a healthy economy.

The kingpins and pushers learn their lessons well and know all the tricks in keeping the dependency spiraling. They know that many in our country would rather remain on their knees begging for government handouts than to stand up, shake the subordination to government, and return to the principles of American exceptionalism.

As with all uncontrolled, untreated drug problems, the government addiction eventually proves fatal to individuals, families, businesses, and the Republic. Our country and its people are dying a slow death; deprived of its lifeblood of liberty and stripped of its backbone of responsibility.

Liberals and Marxists fall into two basic categories: The first group is incapable of thinking and acting for themselves and want government to provide for their needs. The second, mistakenly believes they are capable and, indeed, ordained to think and act for everyone else. The second group is the destroyer of free society.

We must relearn the American lesson of prosperity by producing, not by government seizure of assets and redistributing the fruits of the industrious. Until Americans awaken and realize we are addicts to government, we will continue our decline and fall. A country in a mindless stupor awaiting the next feel-good injection bears no resemblance to the Founders vision for this great land.

The American dream is there for those who follow the history lessons of America and embrace the dream. Far too many go through life looking under every government rock in search of grubs when they could enjoy the Feast of America. They remain caught up in a quest to steal the dreams and assets of the producers.

If we allow destruction of the fruit-bearing trees of our nation, we will follow Marxist Europe into the depths of despair. The nanny-state will win or the Republic shall stand; they cannot coexist.

We can realize the dream only by kicking the habit of government and embracing liberty. Acceptance of Barack Obama’s “dream-like” liberal-Marxist ideas, and his Balkanization of our country, will lead to ruination and we will never awaken from this American nightmare.

In Search of a Leader

by Robert Arvay

In ancient Greece, there was a man named Diogenes who walked about in broad daylight carrying a lamp. When asked about this, he replied that he was searching for an honest man.

Today, we are carrying our figurative lamps seeking for a leader who is not only honest, but also, competent, courageous, and accomplished.

Looking down the line of nine, that is, the nine announced candidates for the Republican nomination; I find none who have ALL of the necessary qualities of a great leader.

And make no mistake about it. A good leader will not do. Good is simply not good enough. The problems this nation faces are monumental. (Whenever I begin to list them, the list gets very long, and I get very depressed.)

In times of crisis such as these, a single serious flaw in a president can be the undoing of the nation, as the following well known rhyme illustrates…

For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.

For want of a shoe, the horse was lost.

For want of a horse, the rider was lost.

For want of a rider, the battle was lost.

For want of a battle, the kingdom was lost.

And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

We need more than a “good” leader. We need a GREAT leader, another George Washington, another Ronald Reagan, someone whose qualities overshadow any human weaknesses they may have.

Frankly, even though ALL of the formal candidates are better than Obama, that does not mean that ANY of them can do the job that we need done.

Sarah Palin has set the bar very high as to what is really needed in a president, and NONE of the announced candidates measures up. Only she does.

If the ship is to run aground and break apart, whom would you desire at the helm? Should the blame fall upon your worst enemy, or your best friend? Frankly, I would not wish that fate upon my best friend.

I will probably vote for whomever Sarah Palin endorses, but if I waver at the last moment, I may just write in her name on the ballot.

Some say that in doing so, my vote will be wasted. I disagree. But even if it is wasted, at least my lamp will not.

Just As I Told You: Sharia Law Coming to Libya

You can’t say I didn’t warn you: Libya’s new leader wants sharia law.

by Don Hank

Newsmax just now reported that the new unelected leader of Libya is a strong proponent of Sharia law – in contradistinction to the moderate Ghadaffi whom we just murdered.

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, the favorite of NATO, the EU, David Cameron, Nicolas Sarkozy and most other European leaders, as well as of Obama, “laid out a vision for the post-Gadhafi future with an Islamist tint, saying Islamic Sharia law would be the ‘basic source’ of legislation and existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam would be nullified.”

Why was this no surprise to me?

I had just recently researched Mustafa Abdul Jalil’s background and learned:

After graduating from the department of Shari’a and Law in the Arabic Language and Islamic Studies faculty of University of Libya in 1975, Abdul Jalil was initially “assistant to the Secretary of the Public Prosecutor” in Bayda, before being appointed a judge in 1978.[6]

Abdul Jalil was a judge “known for ruling consistently against the regime,…”

I had looked this up in response to naïve comments from a reader who has the misfortune to be addicted to the MSM and apparently has not yet seen the extent to which modern “journalists” are in fact propagandists and little else.

This reader quoted a prediction that if the war were to continue, a half-million Libyans would die.

I read the article this reader linked to and was astonished to find the quote was attributed to none other than the leader of the transition government, Mustafa Abdul Jalil.

So I researched his background and sure enough, he is a proponent of Sharia law.

Now, go ahead and tell me the EU, NATO, Sarkozy and Obama didn’t know this.

We just murdered a man who was a moderate and Western-friendly in order to install a radical Islamist who will rule the same way they rule in Iran and Saudi Arabia. That can only mean the cruelest possible punishments. Just for reference, a Saudi court recently ordered a migrant worker’s eye gouged out.

Ghadaffi had tried Sharia law and found it did not work well in the real world; further, while the Western propaganda bleated that Ghadaffi was a ruthless dictator who swept aside all opposition, he obviously had kept Abdul Jalil alive and in power despite their major differences. If he was so ruthless, why is Abdul Jalil still alive?

OUR money paid for Ghadaffi’s brutal murder. OUR American and British and French blood was spilled to murder a friendly moderate and install a hostile Islamist in Libya.

It is a self-replicating pattern of what was done in Iran, Kosovo, Iraq, Egypt and Ivory Coast: support for rigid, radical Islamists over moderates who tolerated Jews and Christians.

YOUR government did not do it. You do not have a government. You have, in lieu of a legitimate government, a clique of usurpers with superior mind control methods, led by bankers, corporations, media moguls and assorted government agencies and officials in league with each other, who despise you, your values and your Western way of life and, using the language of moderation and tolerance, are stealthily installing leaders in the Middle East to destroy the last traces of Western influence, except for heavily guarded ties to the Western Ruling Class and the banking system (Ghadaffi had made the mistake of establishing an independent Libyan banking system). Nothing has changed since the late 1880s when a small group of rich radicals met at a private home in a banking area of London for the purpose of accomplishing two heinous goals throughout the world: 1) Install socialism, and 2) eliminate Western (particularly Christian) culture. They later took the name “Fabian Society” and are still quite active today, both in the open, and more importantly, under a cloak of secrecy. Mild-mannered Tony Blair is a member.

Things are going swimmingly for them, what with millions of Muslims imported against the will of the people and wars in the Middle East that tend to strangle Christian influence there.

People don’t get it. They say “these leaders must be crazy” and “if only we could make them understand what they are doing to us.”

But they know exactly what they are doing to us. And they are far from crazy. But so far we have been docile little toadies bowing and scraping before them and dutifully taking notes as they instruct us in the most efficient means of self destruction.

That must stop or we are doomed.

Pray for Israel. Pray for the Middle East Christians.

Pray that others will wake up and see the evil shadow government behind the mask and behind weasel words like peace, sustainable development, green energy, wealth redistribution, quantitative easing…

The Ruling Elites also speak out of both sides of their mouths on Israel and the Jews, subtly promoting anti-Jewish sentiment eerily reminiscent of Germany in the 30s and 40s, while pretending to honor holocaust victims. As a result of their anti-Jewish whispering campaign, I find that even some of my freedom advocating correspondents in Europe, who properly grasp that the EU is a dictatorship, show decidedly anti-Jewish sentiments, failing to understand that in so doing, they are, tragically, supporting the people they think they are opposing.

The words of Western “leaders” mean just the opposite of what they say and suggest.

Open your eyes.

You can’t fight an invisible enemy, and you can’t survive if you don’t fight back.

I tried to warn you before:

Ghadaffi dies of propaganda overdose

I told you so, again

My government is killing me

Spare me the crocodile tears when Northern Africa explodes

How Western powers abet Christian persecution

US media cover up Ivory Coast massacre details

Why I am not on “our” side any more

So Now It’s All the Banks’ Fault?

by Don Hank

When the banks crashed in 2008, smart people on the Right figured out that the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act, which forced banks to lend more money to the “underserved communities”) had something to do with it.

A lot was said and written about the CRA and the case against it looked pretty airtight.

But then leftwing analysts wrote damage control commentaries supposedly showing that the CRA played only a minuscule role. They argued, among other things, that the CRA was enforced only on certain banks while others did not have to comply.

Conservative observers bought into this story without further examination, and all of a sudden, everyone was looking elsewhere for a culprit: They found blood on the hands of the Fed, the corporations, the lobbyists, etc., all of whom certainly had played a role.

I must agree, of course, with the libertarians and even the OWS crowd that corporations and banks contributed in no small way to the crash.

And I agree with Ron Paul, Alex Jones, Steph Jasky, Karl Denninger, Bill Stills and others that the Fed, with its inflationary policies and cheap credit in the midst of a housing bubble, had a huge hand in the crash. There is a lot of political hay to be made off the anger of many in the Occupy Wall Street crowd who can see only corporate greed as the culprit. Conservatives who spell out the entire narrative, including the role of leftist government, risk losing their constituency and their followers.

So with all these individuals and groups jumping on the anti-corporate and anti-Fed bandwagon, should the CRA get off Scott free?

Amidst the lynch crowd fervor, should we really let the government off the hook?

I go on the theory that the truth is always best, even if it is bad for one’s popularity at times.

Thus, one side of the rather complex discussion has been muted, and yet, that is the message we all need to focus on right now, if for no other reason than that it is a blind spot that could cause many to think the private corporations are solely to blame, when the government was the culprit that got the ball rolling toward the housing crash and subsequent subprime crisis by enforcing horrendous wealth redistribution law that was doomed to fail from the start. After all, exonerating a truly guilty party can only induce devious characters to do more mischief.

Case in point: taking advantage of the blackout regarding the seminal causes of the crash, Barney Frank, one of the most heinous offenders in the run-up, hypocritically teamed up with Chris Dodd after the crash to write tighter banking regulations, slyly dissimulating that his own support for the CRA had contributed to the economic/financial downturn in a way that some are now calling criminal.

So let’s be honest and let the chips fall where they may. The government played a seminal role in the crash with its CRA enforcement, as aided and abetted by ACORN, even though a superficial analysis may suggest it was not that big a role. So how did this devastating law do its dirty work in the shadows?

It pulled off this feat because it was not the government forcing banks to make loans to the insolvent, which was just an initiator or catalyst. It was rather the less visible effect of the CRA’s policy allowing (force was soon no longer needed) the banks to make bad loans with the tacit guarantee that the loans would be guaranteed by government.

See, if a law forces some people to use unsound banking policies, i.e., deliberately lending to the insolvent, then it can hardly prosecute banks that do this, even if they were not the ones originally targeted by the legislation. Thus, the CRA opened the flood gates for horrendous banking practices never seen before on this scale by providing a huge incentive for banks to make money hand over fist at taxpayer expense.

All of this is further compounded by the fact that neither banks nor most (if any) American corporations can be thought of as representing true free market capitalism. So for the OWS activists or anyone else to blame the crash on capitalism is like blaming saber tooth tigers for making the outdoors unsafe.

But we aren’t talking about any of this now. Somehow, the narrative of the CRA as an insignificant contributor to our woes has assumed the status of settled science. We’ve been led down a rabbit trail by both the far left and the well-meaning right that got lost and started seeing only the role of the banks.

But you know what? This topic of government culpability is much too young to die. Let’s drag it back onto the table again and take a longer look this time.

Two Revolutions Are At Hand

Just when we might have thought that matters could not get more confusing, here comes the “Occupy Wall Street” movement. We now have not one, but TWO revolutions going on at the same time. It’s almost as if a space-time warp had brought together the years 1776 and 1917, the American and Communist Revolutions, respectively.

Leftist reporters who stampeded to the phone booths (if you’ve seen old movies) to report that the TEA Party was a white racist mob bent on violence, when in fact there was no racism and no violence, are now stampeding to report that the Leftist mobs protesting against capitalism are just ordinary folk airing legitimate grievances against capitalism.

Some have even gone so far as to label the “occupy” movement as the left’s TEA Party!

Sanitation workers could tell you that the difference is one between parks left neat and spotless by TEA Partiers, and mountains of trash left by “Occupy” protesters. Law enforcement could compare the list of people arrested – hundreds of “Occupy” protesters, and for the TEA Party, the grand total comes to, let’s see, carry the one, rounding upward – ZERO.

I would also warrant that while TEA Partiers could tell you what major events happened in the years 1776 and 1917, a huge percentage of “Occupy” protesters would have no clue. I would wager that nearly 100 percent of TEA Partiers have voter registration cards, while most “Occupy” protesters would at best have an “Acorn” card that somebody else filled out for them.

Both sides do, in fact, have legitimate grievances. For the TEA Partiers, the national debt is seen as a direct threat to the liberty of themselves, and more so, to the liberty of their grandchildren.

For the Occupiers, the bailouts of major corporations is an outrage, and they are absolutely correct. Capitalism has been perverted over the years into pernicious socialism. In the present system, if the corporations make a profit, they keep it. If they take a loss, we pay it for them. And in either case, the corporate officers get million dollar bonuses, even if they drive their companies into the dirt.

The irony is that while the TEA Partiers have correctly identified the cause of the problem, the “Occupy” protesters are like sheep, running for protection to the wolves.

The TEA Party knows that the problem is runaway government that has gotten so big that it cannot stop growing, cannot stop its addiction to taxing, spending, and borrowing.

The Occupiers cluelessly think that the problem is that government is not doing enough, that it should spend more, tax more, and use our grandchildrens’ credit cards to make up any shortfall.

As one looks at depictions of thousands of Russian peasants rioting in Red Square in 1917, chanting things like, “Kill the Czar,” and “What a great guy that Lenin dude is,” (dudeskie?), one wonders how many of them eventually wound up in Siberia, being worked to death by the very Vlad Lenin whom they placed in power?

But it is a rare, if not singular, event in history, for two incongruent revolutions to be occurring in the same country at the same time. One might reasonably call it chaos … and social chaos on a massive scale can have but one eventual outcome – tyranny.

This is why Obama has chased after the Occupiers, trying to get in front of the parade, praising them for their anti-capitalist rant. Because he knows that once the riots begin on a nationwide scale, he will have the pretext he needs to suspend the Constitution.

The wolf will promise the sheep anything they wish to hear. And dinner will be served.

The Solution to Illegal Immigration …

… An Editorial Board opinion from a TBP member

I strongly agree that it is time for the states to rein in the federal government. As our constitutional instructor/president should know, the U.S. Constitution is a document of limitation. The Constitution is literally an agreement between the states, creating the federal government for certain specific purposes, granting specific powers to achieve those purposes, and reserving all other powers to the states. In very broad terms, the general purpose of the Constitution is to provide for the physical security of the nation, portray a unified face to the world, and regulate the dealings between the states – not the lives of individual citizens. Over the course of time, unfortunately, the principles underlying the Constitution have been so perverted that the current federal government would likely be unrecognizable to our founding fathers. The result is the current system of selective enforcement of our nation’s laws, driven in large part by political concerns and preservation of individual power. In short, a ruling class rather than a citizenry legislature and informed electorate.

I must disagree, however, that the solution to illegal immigration can best be achieved by taking it out on the illegal immigrants. Let’s remember that with the exception of Native Americans, everyone in the country today is either an immigrant or descendent of an immigrant. The legal basis for our claim of ownership of this land is “by right of conquest.” The vast majority of immigrants, legal or illegal, are here because they want to make a better life for themselves and their families. The vast majority of illegal immigrants are law-abiding (except for being here illegally), pay taxes, and participate in their respective communities. They want to be legal. While the press may portray illegal immigrants as drunken criminals that steal American jobs, the ones that I know (and I live in Arizona) are friendly, helpful, sociable members of the community. It is the knee-jerk reaction of the press to misrepresent the true character of the majority of immigrants that is clouding the real issue.

The issue with respect to illegal immigration is not the individual, but the lack of an efficient and orderly mechanism for entering this country and the federal government’s failure to control our country’s borders. The southern border of this country is not controlled by US authorities but by the drug cartels operating on both the Mexican and US sides of the border. Without an efficient and orderly mechanism for entering this country, people seeking the benefit of freedom and the opportunities this country provides must enter illegally. Years ago, that simply meant trekking across the desert, trying not to die of dehydration. It was the custom and practice of officials along the southern border to make sure that people found in the desert were safe and had enough water to get to their destination. Now, the southern border is controlled by the drug cartels so anyone looking to cross over to the US must pay their price. Typically, this requires the illegal transportation of drugs, guns, and money, with the failure to comply often resulting in the death or harm of family members back home. Most of the people moving back and forth across the border are the “handlers” that work for the cartels. The vast majority of illegal immigrants, who are simply looking for a new life, are the victims and not the problem. Efficient and orderly access points, combined with a controlled border, would allow safe transit for legitimate traffic while preventing the drugs, guns, and ill-gotten money traffic.

Deflecting blame to the illegal immigrants is not much different than Obama blaming bush for all Obama’s failures. As usual, the real problem is the federal government’s broad and selective enforcement of our laws for political gain and to secure power.

The US is a great country. Solving our problems requires that government keep us safe, while getting out of the way so Americans can be free to be Americans, build businesses, innovate, and continue doing what made this country great: the unfettered pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness.
