Anti-American Hostilities – From Within and Without

The Enemy From Without Arrives – 9/11

September 11 is this generation’s “day that will live in infamy.” We commemorate the 10th anniversary of the perilous strikes on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and the hijacked plane that crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania with memorials, tributes and television specials that offer a disturbing déjà vu of those awful events on that beautiful sunny morning in 2001.

As the archived film and photos are  reviewed, once again, I flash back to the confusion and fear I felt as I turned on my television 10 years ago and tried to make sense of the images of fires, collapsing buildings and dust-covered people that seemed, at first glance, a frightened, moving statuary.

I awakened late in Los Angeles on September 11; I was, unknowingly, watching the reruns of the attacks remixed with new footage. Throughout the past decade, those frightening recollections remain vivid, but not as intense and shattering as they were that morning and for many months after.

The term “unspeakable horror” is often used in newspaper crime reports and histrionic movie advertisements. Ten years ago, the phrase became sharply-defined before my eyes as I watched a passenger jet deliberately plunge into a towering building.

Out of the rubble and ashes of the terrorist forays arose the phoenix of fierce and fiery patriotism in America – for a while – and proudly we hailed the stars and stripes – from our homes, our cars, buildings and billboards. We were united in our thirst for justice and defiantly, proudly American.

For a while, we were a nation of neighbors – brought together in mourning and bonded in our resolve for retribution. However, just as the memory of that bi-partisan Congressional chorus singing the national anthem on the Capitol steps faded, so did our collective memory of unified grief and outrage. I will remember that awful day … for the victims, survivors and the vestige of our patriotic unity.

Last year, I wrote an article, “Why Every American is a Victim of 9/11” and I stand by that statement. The passage of years, as well as political revisionists and ridiculous conspiracists have tried to dim, diminish or alter the broken-glass edged pain and the nostalgia of national loyalty from our memories; but, many Americans know that we must keep the torch burning – for the lives lost, our homeland security and to shed a light in the darkness of ill-intent from the enemy without.

As I prepared to publish 9/11 articles for The Bold Pursuit, I sent requests for blogs or remembrances to friends in my social networks. It is with pride and honor that I share the replies sent to me by fellow Patriots. One responded with a journal entry detailing a coast-to-coast trip with his son, leaving New York on 9/11, en route to California. Learning of the attacks on his car radio, my friend could see the missile silos from the car window – open in preparation for possible use. His past military experience informed him of the grave, potential danger and he worried for his child’s safety and future.

A social media friend, Sherry, sent this heartfelt sentiment recalling that unfathomable and ill-fated day:

“No, we will never forget the horrendous crime that was committed that day … I worked with a very beautiful lady, in Washington state, who used to be an airline stewardess for Southwest. She lost her niece, an airline stewardess, on one of the planes, on that fateful day of 9/11. I don’t know which plane it was, but she said that her niece’s voice was one of those heard before the plane crashed. It was heart breaking, and it hurt for her to try and talk about. My heart and thoughts will be with her, and all people who lost their family, friends, co-workers, on that day that will never be forgotten. They, and we, all became victims of that horrible tragedy.”

My email request to another friend, a writer and political insider) was politely declined; I did not know that he was working in the Pentagon that day. He suffered terrible injuries and lost many friends and colleagues when the plane nose-dived into the headquarters of the Office of Defense. He briefly shared his 9/11 experience in private note, explaining that those memories were still too painful to awaken. Humbled by his admission, I understood, more vividly, that there are those who’ve suffered in ways we can’t or would want to imagine.

Do you recall the “six degrees of separation” game? Most of us can connect to the terrorist attacks in less than one or two degrees. The aforementioned network friends had personal and second degree experiences. My cousin’s friend worked in one of the WTC towers and was laid-off on September 10 – a blessed ‘near miss.’ A colleague, based in our New York offices, almost lost her husband who worked in one of the towers. He was able to escape without injury before the collapse. A close friend of mine called me that day – one of his best friends worked in the WTC in an office above the impact zone. My friend left voicemail and email messages at home and on office phones, then anxiously awaited a reply. Much later that day and to his great relief, his friend called; a domestic issue kept him at home and safe from danger.

Readers, I know you have your own “six degree stories” and that’s one reason why this is such a personal and national watershed event.

As I dedicate this article to those who had direct experiences during the attack or whose friends and family had ‘near-misses,’ my thoughts are drawn to the new threat of terrorism from ‘the enemy without,’ as well as concern for the fury and rancor of the ‘new enemy within’ – political ideologues.

I am in no way comparing the events of September 11, 2001 with the political warmongering in our country. I want to make a point and I hope, Readers, that you will consider my concerns.

The Enemy Within

During the past few decades, our enemies hijacked, skyjacked and placed explosives on planes. They took and tortured hostages. They targeted military bases and ships. They planted a bomb in the WTC several years before September 11; obviously, a ‘dry run.’

After the heinous acts of terrorism on September 11, 2001, our enemies and their sympathizers danced in the streets – ululating their joy at our despair.

Do not forget that our foreign enemies, Islamic extremists, told us they hated America – and they meant it.

They chanted, in the streets and in stadiums, “Death to America” – and they meant it.

People usually mean what they say, so be wise, my friends. Never forget, America.

Our enemies are not always born on foreign soil and taught to hate from the cradle. Some of our enemies were born and raised next door. They aren’t arming themselves with dirty bombs or weapons of mass destruction; their armament is ideological and political. Their weapons are propaganda and inviting/inciting citizen acts of hostility and thuggery.

A few of our ‘enemies within’ hold high office – nationally and locally. They are union bosses and leaders in industry, and they share ideologies that are antithetical to the concept and reality of America.

Progressivism became one of the enemies within starting early in the last century with well-meant workplace reforms in the new, evolving industrial era. Labor unions grew out these reforms and many workers greatly benefitted from their protection. However, strong-arm tactics and corruption within some organizations taints the validity of their good works.

Our school system was supposed to nurture the minds of young Americans; instead, Progressive ideology is inculcated into our classrooms and shaping our children’s opinions:

“Understand, no reasonable person has a problem with teaching children to be responsible stewards of the planet. But anyone who has watched the steady evolution of public schools from places of education into propaganda centers for the progressive worldview knows exactly what is going on here.” Arnold Ahlert,

The Progressive worldview is interpreted with innocuous and mild terminology founded in empathy, responsibility and community or in more radical statement of principles:

“What is a progressive worldview? It’s simple: You have empathy for others, and you act responsibly on that empathy, being both responsible for yourself and socially responsible as well …” CommonwealthInstitute

Juxtapose the foregoing with this very liberal and extreme interpretation of Progressivism:

  • For peace and justice to be realized, white people must be reduced to a minority
  • Western civilization is culturally “wired” for crimes against humanity
  • Whites must be reduced to a minority
  • Minority crime is caused by white oppression
  • The teaching & promotion of alternate sexual lifestyles
  • Only whites are racist; people-of-color cannot be racist since they are oppressed
  • The elimination of all religions (religion = organized oppression)
  • Elimination of the “nuclear family”
  • Elimination of all borders and dissolution of the nation-state concept

We should be aware of the enemies within because they have, in union boss Jimmy Hoffa Jr.’s words as he introduced Barack Obama to a pro-union rally in Detroit. Mr. Hoffa is quoted as standing by his incendiary attacks on the Tea Party, a movement founded in protest of the excessive and liberal legislation thrust upon the nation by Mr. Obama. There are five core principles of this philosophy:

1.  Limited Government

2.  Fiscal Responsibility

3.  Personal Responsibility

4.  The Rule of Law

5.  National Sovereignty

A Declaration of War

“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere – it is the Tea Party. And you know there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is that we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Jimmy Hoffa Jr.

Mr. Hoffa said to the crowd, “President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son-of-bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong.”

Those “sons of bitches” to whom he referred are members of the Tea Party movement – in other words, Americans who believe in the five principles listed above.

Rep. Maxine Waters, a California Democrat, recently told a community gathering, “as far as I’m concerned, the ‘tea party’ can go straight to Hell.”

In April 2009, a senior aide circulated a document identifying members of the Tea Party movement as driven by corporate lobbyists and attended by neo-Nazis. The document further notes that the tea parties are “not really all about average citizens,” suggesting that neo-Nazis, militias, secessionists and racists are attending their rallies. The tea parties are also not peaceful, since reporters in Cincinnati had to seek “police protection” during one of the events, the document states.  Source:

Americans concerned with fiscal responsibility, smaller government and adherence to our Constitution are being pegged as terrorists, Nazis, rightwing nutjobs, hobbits, barbarians at the gates and sons of bitches. Our enemies within have declared “war,” but make no mistake: this war will be waged against any American who does not accept progressive and liberal ideologies or the far-left president, not just those who support the Tea Party movement.

Contemplate the message in the following excerpt from our Declaration of Independence; let it guide your actions and decisions. Sadly, it seems we must also take the fight for America to the enemy within.

“… Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security…” Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776

  1. As much as the memory of 9/11 keeps me aware of the danger from our external enemies, there's no doubt in my mind that our internal enemies are the more dangerous. Indeed, if they are defeated, politically, then we will properly be able to address our external enemies, without the cover afforded them by Progressives in our own country.Thank you, Clio, this is a powerful testimony to the memory of that fateful day, and a strong statement on today's issues, these ten years later.

  2. Thank you very much for your comments, Bruce. I agree with you that our 'internal' enemies are just as dangerous to us as those without … It is a time for vigilance, as well as as activism.

  3. God Bless America! We must always remember that America was attacked by Muslim jihadists on 9-11; no matter what Statists like George Soros, (the puppet master behind Barack Hussein Obama) says. Obama wants to TRANSFORM America. Ironically, the Muslim Brotherhood calls for the destruction of the Western civilization from within. They state, we do not want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democracy. That is what we want. Islam is not just a religion; it is a religious system, a political system and a military system. Muslims can lie to the infidel to promote Islam. Infidels will have to convert to Islam, be enslaved or be killed. Sharia Law is not compatible with the US Constitution. The United States is a nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles and we tolerate other religions like Islam. Nevertheless, we do not want to become a Muslim nation and put under Sharia law. That is why we must remain vigilant to protect our freedom. Look at the problems Germany, Great Britain and France are having by appeasing to Muslims.

  4. Well done CC: To beat the progressive movement back for the next 40 years, educating our children will be job number one. We have to restore fundamental beliefs and explain why America is exceptional, and how do to our laziness we almost let it get away. This will keep folks who are just trying to get by focusing on real issues, forget T.V. My ten-year old granddaughter just sent me a text…Happy 9-11…Thankfully she doesn't get it yet. The Unions are about through as well, particular in the public sector. The thugs, I suggest to my readers if confronted at a Tea party, take a defensive position, lots of video, refuse to engage in verbal exchanges, just keep yelling why are you attacking me? Why are you attacking me? Now that won't be making prime time, but it will be all over Druge and other blogs. This is not time to play into Obama's hand. George W Bush said it yesterday, there is True Evil in the world and true Hero's There is only one outcome, "We win, they lose"~Ronald Reagan Jim
